Aims & Objectives
- The Indian Nutrition Academy provides a credible and independent platform for comprehensive information on Nutrition for Health care, Nutrition industry and the General Public.
- The INA is a tool for appropriate interpretation of Nutrition messages to common public, community and Nutrition industry.
- Acts as a resource hub for facts and information and analysis of statistics for policy makers, NGO’s, healthcare organizations and general public.
- The Indian Nutrition Academy will generate/ formulate nutritional guidelines for therapeutic conditions on a regular basis.
- INA offers short term certificate courses on Dietetics, Health and Therapeutic Nutrition.
- The council has the know how to facilitate the nutritional analysis of products/ brands and food items from accredited / certified laboratories.
- Bridges the gap on Nutrition information by integrating academic centers, industry and Nutrition organizations.
- Organizing education workshops and seminars for writers, HCP’s, Counselors’, researches, and policy makers.
- Generation of world class data resource with relation to health, nutrition and wellness.
- Assisting partnership with government and non-government nutrition health bodies.
- Advocacy on nutritional brands by conferences, workshops, campus and public health programs.
- Involving corporate, NGO, public sector units and government organizations in dissemination of nutrition information.
- Pursuing international and national fund support for various research and nutritional programs in public domain.
- To uplift the nutrition equity in both commercial and public sector and improve nutrition awareness in general
- INA will develop marketing, media and public relations program which includes partnerships with industry.
- INA will create an online dietitian referral system which will facilitate access to dietitians for the public, for the media, and for other health professionals.
- INA will publish a quarterly peer-reviewed journal on Nutrition, Food technology, Food science etc.
- INA will conduct training sessions in hospitals/ colleges on nutrition communication. ( may be in association with BMJ, or some other organization)
- INA will provide educational/career counseling sessions to college students and help them make more informed choices
- INA will honour researchers, students and scientists by giving awards for some path breaking research in the field of nutrition
